Coming to Christ Church for a meeting? Looking for a free meal? "Hungry" for Bible Study? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then our new weeknight adult education series is for you! We are offering an informal look at the lectionary readings for the coming week along with a light dinner. So if you are on your way to church for a meeting, skip the drive-through and come study with us, or just drop by and see what we're up to. Our next gathering will be on February 9th.

Contact Joe Snavely for more information.

Parish Retreats

As a community of disciples, we recognize the importance of setting aside time in our lives to pray, reflect, and listen. One of the ways that we do this is through our seasonal Parish Retreats. Topics for past retreats have included "Telling Our Stories", "Organic Faith," and "Reconciliation". This fall we will had our first retreat with an invited speaker named Martin Smith, Senior Associate at St. Columba Episcopal Church, Washington, DC. Smith is the author of four books, a noted speaker, a retreat leader, spiritual director, and columnist, and we were both challenged and inspired by what he shared with us over a full weekend. Stay tuned for details about upcoming events!

Church School

10 a.m. Sundays

Our Church School offers classes for youth between Pre-School and Senior High School ages. Classes are grouped according to age and each year a specific theme is used with age appropriate material in each class. The classes incorporate singing, reading, and art activities. We also have activities related to particular seasons, such as a Christmas Pageant and an Easter Resurrection Egg hunt, and a intergenerational evening Vacation Bible School in July.

Our youngest students (Pre K-2nd Grade) use the Godly Play curriculum. Those who have seen this program in action know that it is a wonderful way for children to learn how to draw near to God, and grow in their relationship with Him. This is done through activities that are based on Montessori principles that help students "do faith" themselves in an environment that respects the gifts and needs of each individual child.

Our students in Grades 3-5 are using the Faithweaver curriculum again this year. This lectionary-based curriculum helps students connect their studies with their worship experiences, and develop a love for and understanding of our liturgical, Episcopal heritage. This is accomplished with a set of time tested games, group play activities, crafts, songs and prayer experiences that help students grow in their knowledge and love of God.

Our Junior and Senior High classes use the Journey to Adulthood program. For more info on this exciting program, see our Journey to Adulthood page.

Nursery

We care deeply about our littlest parishioners and guests and have worked hard to create a nursery environment that is safe, fun, and stimulating. Our Nursery is staffed every Sunday from 8:45am-12:15pm by two friendly, experienced, professional caregivers. Stop by and see for yourself!

If you have any questions about these offerings please feel free to contact our Director of Christian Formation, Joe Snavely.
