The Youth Choir

The CCG Youth Choir is open to all children ages 6-13 (through grade 8). They sing monthly at the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Service during the year. Through regular rehearsal, these young choristers not only build a repertoire of anthems to be used during the Church year, but they also learn to use the Hymnal and the Prayer Book, and gain a lifelong appreciation for music.  The Royal School of Church Music provides the curriculum through its Voice for Life program, used worldwide to great success. These kids get a high-level musical education with an emphasis on singing, music reading, and teamwork. There is no charge to participate!

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 4:30-5:15 PM in the Choir Room

The Parish Choir

This choir is open to all singers age 14 (upon beginning grade 9) through adult. A mainly volunteer group, supported by four Choral Scholars, the Parish Choir sings regularly at the 11:00 a.m. Rite II Sunday Service during the choir season (after Labor Day through Trinity Sunday), as well as special services like the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, Choral Evensong, and weekday services as required. The choirs have been on five pilgrimages to England, having been Choir in Residence at Wells Cathedral (2007), Worcester Cathedral (2010), Durham Cathedral (2013), Canterbury Cathedral (2016), and Winchester Cathedral (2019). The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 PM in the Choir Room.

New singers are always welcome and are invited to contact the Director of Music to arrange a brief meeting before joining. While an “audition” is not required, the director will want to hear your voice type, tone and range to see if it is a good fit within the ensemble.

The Christ Church Glendale Parish Choir is an open and welcoming group of Episcopalians who seek—through musical excellence, personal growth, and scriptural evangelism—to enrich worship for the sake of serving God and the Church.”

The English Handbell Choir

Open to musicians age 14 and above, the English Handbell Choir plays in worship about once per month, at either the 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Sunday Service. The choir uses a 3-octave set of Schulmerich handbells and rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Choir Room. New members are welcome and are asked to make a season-long commitment (Sept.-May) for the consistency of the group. Please contact the Director of Music for more information.
